For Atila tattoos are rituals and he takes it very personal and intense. There is a lot of responsibility to be the one eternalizing  Symbols and it´s images in a persons body. For him is a path that forms a tribe, a family that is his own, so he gets to know better the interference of this alive images. Atila choses carefully his clients, the ones that will become part of his tribe, he makes all the draws himself and needs to fell confidence  from the ones that wants to have his art externalized in their bodies.

His interview for „Kulturding“ had a focus in tactile senses and an interesting dialog was created.
For Atila tactile senses can drive us for the better, can help people in their choices. He gives  a simple example:

„When we look at dirty couch we immediately think that may  not be comfortable to seat in. We smell food before eating it and it doesn’t assure its quality or origin, but we trust ourselves. This practical samples can be  extended for the complex decisions we have to make. Also we know that color and forms have a psychological meanings, affinity with some colors for example can make us a gothic person or a very happy and communicative one.

His media to work is the ´Museu Moderno` (Museu Modern), a gallery that turns to be a common place to artists to collaborate and a guest house, giving the opportunity for people to experience what they live. The guests are received in a house in front of the sea in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro. The guests can have breakfast with their tattoo artist and leave with an art piece in their skin.
In this place there are also pieces that can be touched, canvas with texture.  At Museu Moderno they notice that when people feel free to experience they bring a smile in their faces, the children  are happy to jump over the couch that looks wet but is not. Sit on the bench and feel the soft touch of small plants growing there.
They also have positive feedbacks about how the graffiti’s improved places. Abandon places, dirty and full of trash being transformed into meeting points. Cold and a without life a house of abandoned children start to look like a cozy home with beautiful draws in the walls, their atmosphere and faces shows a new start for believing.

Atila adds:

„I think that transforming peoples environment and bodies can make them feel stronger and more confident. We make charity projects in a hospital where we bring art, colors and clowns to help kids in their healing  process. The stimulus of senses can determinate our mood, interfere a lot in our behavior with each other and influences the choices we make.“

The talk with Atila contributed for the discussion opened in a class room of Fashion Design students in Berlin. Our senses are as an international language and our feeling towards it seams to be equal independently of here we come from. He made a collaboration  with the artist Cintia Fasano and the result was a photo exhibition named „Vista-se de si memo“, what could be translated as „Dressing up of yourself.“ in the images Cintia captures naked bodies showing its tattoos, the nakedness has another form with colorful bodies and the draws take over the clothes place.

Is not new that fashion brands takes tattoos and graffiti element for prints, they are strong, expressive motives. Tattoos are externalizing the mind of an individual to be read by who looks at it. As a society we react strongly towards it, many cultures have negative judgments but tribes as from the tattoo artist Atila Rezler are changing this vision with the passion for what they believe. As well as transforming graffiti from a vandalism scene to a colorful beautiful canvas. It can be throughout skin, walls or wood, Atila works all the time with and for our senses.
